Author Guidelines
Manuscript Review Process
On average, the time from manuscript submission to publication in Research Bulletin by Russian Maritime Register of Shipping is around 1 (one) month (including initial review, peer review, revising and final decision on article publication). The journal is published every three months (March, June, September and December).
Submission
All manuscripts shall be submitted to the Editorial Board via online submission system (link to the Registration). The corresponding author shall upload the manuscript file and supplementary materials: a cover letter, a license agreement, an expert report on clearance for public release. For initial review it is permitted to submit a manuscript without supplementary materials. Articles for publication are accepted only with a full package of supplementary materials.
Initial Review
All submissions are subject to initial review in order to check compliance with the subject matter of the journal, manuscript formatting guidelines and originality. The initial review stage, which takes a week or less, may result in authors receiving proposals for manuscript revision. The authors are expected to confirm to the Editorial Board if the proposed revisions are possible by a proposed date. In case of substantial shortcomings (e.g. if the manuscript contains plagiarism, it is inconsistent with subject matter of the journal or inappropriately presented), the manuscript can be desk-rejected by the responsible editor prior to peer-review (in this case, the author has the right to send a request to the Editor-in-Chief for peer review). Following relevant revision, a manuscript is sent for peer review.
Peer Review
Research Bulletin by Russian Maritime Register of Shipping uses double-blind peer review. On average, the review process takes 1 (one) month. For details refer to Peer Review Policy section.
Manuscript Acceptance
Manuscripts that are accepted by the Editor-in-Chief following peer review are scheduled for publication in the next available issue.
Preparation for Publication
When preparing the manuscript for publication, the Editorial Board may request update author’s information, provide better quality figures and other information necessary for manuscript proof-reading and layout.
Publication
Upon approval, full texts of all manuscripts of an issue are published on the journal's website in the open access. By submitting a manuscript for publication, authors give their consent to use metadata (title, author information, abstract, keywords, reference lists, bibliography, etc.), as well as the manuscript itself by distributing and making available to the public, processing and systematization, as well as inclusion in various databases and information systems.
Submission Preparation Checklist
As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
The manuscripts are accepted if has not been published or submitted for publication elsewhere.
The materials should be prepared in a format OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or World Perfect.
Internet links are provided as a complete URL.
Text should be typed with an interval of one and a half line spacing, font Times New Roman, 14 pt; to highlight the accents it is recommended to use italics rather than underlining (except Internet links). All images, graphics and tables are placed within the text according to the meaning of the particular part of text (and not at the end of the document).
Text should follow the stylistic and bibliography requirements as stated in Regulations located in the Part "About Us."
Please, remove the authors' names from the title of the article and other parts of the document to ensure the anonymity of reviewing.

Authors who publish with this journal agree to the following terms:
